Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Later, she was morning news anchor at WCBD TV and acted as the crime reporter. O'Dell's stories in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police regarding DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. It led to state authorities issuing more strict regulations in these cases. Ms. O'Dell was recognized by the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Awards to all media South Carolina. After her time in Charleston, O'Dell worked as anchor for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and as an investigative journalist. She then became a part of Access Hollywood to work as the weekend and weekday correspondent. O'Dell in addition to being the lead anchor for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She has covered major events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. As well as co-hosting the Pre Show Arrivals for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. Co-hosted The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
